This tour adds something special to the Golden Triangle: a chance to see wild Bengal tigers in Ranthambore National Park, one of the best places in India for tiger sightings.

You see the monuments of Delhi, the Taj Mahal at sunrise with our own Agra guides, two jeep safaris in Ranthambore among old fort ruins and lakes, and the palaces of Jaipur. Everything is private, with one car and driver for the whole trip.

Itinerary

DAY 1Arrive in Delhi, city tour

Pickup from Delhi airport or your hotel.
Old Delhi: Jama Masjid and a rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk.
New Delhi: Humayun's Tomb, India Gate and Qutub Minar. Overnight in Delhi.

DAY 2Delhi to Agra

Drive to Agra (about 3.5–4 hours).
Afternoon visit to Agra Fort and Itmad-ud-Daulah (Baby Taj).

DAY 3Taj Mahal at sunrise, drive to Ranthambore

Taj Mahal at sunrise with your guide.
Drive towards Ranthambore, stopping at Fatehpur Sikri on the way.
Arrive in the evening and relax at your jungle lodge. Overnight in Ranthambore.

DAY 4Ranthambore safaris

Early morning jeep safari in Ranthambore National Park.
Rest at the lodge through the midday heat.
Afternoon jeep safari. Overnight in Ranthambore.

DAY 5Ranthambore to Jaipur

Drive to Jaipur (about 3.5–4 hours).
Afternoon visit to City Palace, Jantar Mantar and a photo stop at Hawa Mahal.
Evening free for the local bazaars. Overnight in Jaipur.

DAY 6Amber Fort, return to Delhi

Morning visit to Amber Fort.
Drive back to Delhi (about 5 hours). Drop at your hotel or the airport.

Good to Know

The Taj Mahal is closed every Friday. If your Agra day falls on a Friday, we simply reorder the itinerary so you still see it.
Safari permits must be booked in advance with passport details, and popular dates sell out early. Book this tour as early as you can.
The main safari zones in Ranthambore usually close during the monsoon (around July to September). Please check your dates with us.
Tigers are wild animals, so sightings can never be guaranteed. Two safaris give you a much better chance.

Ranthambore is one of the best parks in India for tiger sightings, but tigers are wild and sightings are never guaranteed. That is why this tour includes two safaris.

When is the best time for a Ranthambore safari?

October to June. The cooler months (October to March) are more comfortable, while April to June is hot but often good for sightings as animals come to the water.

Should we book a jeep or a canter?

We recommend a jeep. It is smaller (6 seats), quieter and more comfortable. A canter is a larger shared open bus.

How far in advance should we book?

As early as possible. Safari permits are limited and need passport details, and they can sell out months ahead for peak dates.

Is this tour good for families with children?

Yes. Families love the safari. For young children we plan shorter drives and more rest time.
