Agra Beyond Taj is run by a team of government-certified local guides based in Agra, with 15+ years of experience showing international travelers the city beyond its most famous monument.
Agra Beyond Taj grew out of years spent guiding travelers through the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and the wider city — and noticing how much of Agra most visitors never got to see. The Taj Mahal is, understandably, the reason most people come. But Agra is also Agra Fort, Fatehpur Sikri, the Baby Taj, and a city of craftspeople, food and history that rarely makes it into a guidebook itinerary.
We built this business around a simple idea: private, unhurried, locally-led travel — with a government-certified guide who lives here, not a franchise operator managing group buses.
Every tour we run is private — never a fixed group joined with strangers. Guides are government-certified, meaning they've been trained and licensed to interpret Agra's monuments accurately, not just recite a script. And because we're based in Agra rather than routing bookings through a national or international agency, your itinerary is planned by people who are actually here.
Most of our travelers are international visitors on their first trip to India, often combining Agra with Delhi and Jaipur as part of a wider Golden Triangle route. We also work with travel agents and DMCs sending clients to Agra — see our Travel Trade page for details.
